TOS FNK 25A = Czechoslovakian Bridgeport.... I´d say it´s a bit more rigid, versatility is same, ISO 30 taper.... can do vertical, if you just flip whole headstock you´ve got a little vertical shaper, can turn in whole lot angles..... A really great machine, we have it at our workshop in work, it´s pleasure to work with it.... then maybe TOS FNGJ 32...

Just a piece of information there is no Center leg the only time you have a center leg is if you are single split phase which means they have a single wire running to a Transformer and then tapping the center of the Transformer you have three phase meaning there's three hot legs all three or hot black red blue 120 208 Brown orange yellow 277 480 all three wires are 120 degrees apart from each other at any given time on a single split phase unit which is typical for a home you are a hundred and eighty degrees apart meaning one leg is on the positive AC cycle and the other leg is on the negative AC cycle so no there is no smaller legs

Bridge port brake is on a hinge because when the brake is engaged you can pivot the handle on its hinge pivoting it out away from the head. Which should lock it in place.

Bridgeport does lock with the brake . The lock handle is cammed.Your just not qualified to comment what’s better. The weakness is in the pivoting head and quill. And there all the same size. What’s better then the Bridgeport is a real knee mill. One of the better ones is the brand ..Tree

R5zUUPrXoek&t=24m19s 24:19 - Abom79 uses a very similar face mill in his shop, but it's a 50 taper instead - f0XhlZpUSwo f0XhlZpUSwo

Nice, liking the CAT 40 spindle. The Bridgeport is still an awesome knee mill, especially considering a used one can be bought for under $4k, and a CNC enabled one can be had for under $10k

I have run these before and found after running it for 8 hours I was VERY tired just wore out ! as there just to big and knee & cross travel is to heavy to crank on with no power feed on either. Second very noisy head. Yes it had more power but noise factor was not in confront zone. Also Ram again to heavy if you had ton's of set ups . For me a Bridgeport with a 4 inch riser is a better choose. Or if your doing heavy milling a 30 to 50hp. # 3 or 4 Cincinnati Mill with power everything will walk all over this machine big time for straight up hogging 1/2 inch a pass with coolent

My life was Bridgeport mills and knock offs for over 20 years and i can tell you right now without question that cat set up would be taken off that mill so fast because, no matter what taper you use its a 3 inch dia quill with roller bearings and adding all that to the bottom does nothing at all than take up valuable z inchs and the more you stick out from the quill bearings the more flex it gets. Which in turn adds chatter and wear. Go ahead drop the quill half way with a holder and a rod in the holder to hold from and with a indicator pull back and fourth and you will see a easy .005 or more movement. Then you consider how much force a cat 40 with a 6 inch face mill is putting on it? And we use pneumatic drawbars with 3 second changes. That change time would not be producted at all and would be a joke in a time is money world. Sorry to be so harsh but i don't want people to see this and not hear the cons.

A Gorton will beat the hell out of a Bridgeport.
